The Cabe Carson Chronicles is a Christian historical fiction series (four books currently published, one more in process, and six more planned for the future) about the adventures of an orphan boy (fictional-not based on actual events) in northern Wisconsin in the very early 1900s. The series is very engaging and a hit with young readers and adults as well. If you have a reluctant young reader in your household who reads at the 3rd grade level or higher (adults enjoy these books as well), they may very well instantly love this series. For younger children, these books are excellent for read-aloud by the parent/older sibling/caretaker.

The Frostwood Forest Chronicles is a new series (Christian Fantasy) along the same spirit as The Chronicles of Narnia (with a little bit of The Lord of the Rings feel). This is also a great series for young readers, much the same as The Cabe Carson Chronicles. It details the adventures of four young “orphans” who are transported through a portal out of their miserable situation in an orphanage to a wondrous world in which they hope to play a key part in defending against an invasion. This new world is set in medieval times. Currently there is one book published in this series, with another one in process, and six additional books planned.
